MHEX14 Hexagon Patchwork Ruler (2-14cm)
Includes 7 finished sizes: 2cm, 4cm, 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, 12cm, and 14cm.
Made with laser cutting for precise dimensions.
Designed specifically for drawing and cutting templates for Grandmother’s Flower Garden patterns.
Black printed markings.
Graduations include finished sizes and cutting sizes.
Includes a 7.5mm seam allowance for easy piecing.
Built-in conical seam allowance marks for convenient seam marking.
Recommended products to use with this pattern cutting ruler:
- Non-slip grip stickers to stabilize cutting and ensure safety on cutting mats.
- 28mm rotary cutter for smooth and precise cuts.
- 3-in-1 pressing board for cutting, pressing, and pattern making in one step.
Usage steps:
1. Prepare fabric strips according to the desired finished size. For example, for a 4cm finished size, cut the fabric strip to 5.5cm.
2. Place the ruler on the fabric strip, aligning it with the desired cutting mark (e.g., 5.5cm for this example).
3. Horizontally align the fabric strip and cut along the dashed line on one side.
4. Cut along the ruler to the second side to obtain the required hexagon shape.
5. Use the seam allowance markings on the ruler to draw seam lines along the fabric edges.
6. Sew the marked fabric pieces together in sequence: first join pieces 1, 3, and 5 to the center.
7. Continue piecing the marked fabric pieces in order to complete the quilt block.
Tips: The key to beautiful Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilting is:
A. Piecing point-to-point for accuracy.
B. Ensuring the seam allowances form a windmill pattern.
